Payroll Specialist

Addison Group's client is searching for a Payroll Specialist for a 3-6-month assignment. This role pays $30-35 / hr and is hybrid in Reston, VA.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Process and manage weekly / bi-weekly payroll for certified and union employees, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain payroll records, including prevailing wage determinations, certified payroll reports, and union deductions.
  • Prepare and submit certified payroll reports in accordance with Davis-Bacon Act and other applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with union representatives to ensure proper deductions, benefits, and dues are applied.
  • Ensure accurate wage classifications and prevailing wage rates for government and union projects.
  • Address employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and deductions.
  • Assist with audits and reporting related to certified payroll and union compliance.
  • Keep up to date with payroll laws and union agreements to maintain compliance.

Qualifications :

  • 2+ years of payroll experience, specifically in certified and union payroll processing.
  • Strong knowledge of prevailing wage laws, certified payroll reporting, and union payroll processes.
  • Experience with payroll software such as ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with labor compliance requirements and union contracts.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Preferred : Experience working in the construction or government contracting industries.
