What Will Be On Your Plate?
The Culinary Manager is responsible for the culinary leadership, recipe development, menu execution, and operational support of the Prepared Foods, Cheese and Sushi departments across all store locations. This role ensures that all offerings align with company standards for natural, organic, and attribute-friendly foods, while also supporting kitchen execution, food safety compliance, and store team development. They will collaborate closely with the Central Kitchen to develop and refine products for holiday and everyday menus. The Culinary Manager plays a key role in elevating quality, innovation, and consistency, contributing to an exceptional customer experience and the success of the overall foodservice program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities :
Leads departments to ensure that the overall company's objectives are being met regarding financial objectives and quality standards across the prepared foods, cheese and sushi departments.Develops and writes menus for all prepared foods venues that fit LANL ingredient standards. Ensures that all menus and recipes meet company standards for natural, organic and attribute-friendly items.Responsible for recipe development, scaling and standardization across all prep foods venues and cheese production.Collaborates on Sushi recipe development for natural ingredient standards with the Sr Director of SushiCollaborates with the Sr Category Manager of Food Service on ingredient sourcing and costing for all recipes, menus and ingredient availabilityDevelops and maintains schematic menus for the venues in the prepared foods and sushi departmentsCollaborates with the Sr Category of Food Service on seasonal promotions and ads.Provides training and tools for kitchen teams to consistently execute production plans, optimize labor use and maintain food quality.Develops and works with store teams on implementing effective daily, weekly and seasonal production plans aligned with sales forecasts, holidays and promotional events.Collaborates with the Central Kitchen team on recipes and menus for everyday business and holidayDevelops and manages catering menus and store execution.Oversees food safety and compliance in all kitchens, collaborating with store leadership on training and development of all kitchen teams. Provides insightful, helpful and consistent performance feedback.Builds a culture of quality products and selection that is best in the industry, tailored to meet the needs of each of the communities we serve.Provides guidance to the Perishable teams about changing customer trends. Gathers insights from internal and external resources to enable fact-based decision making.Trains and mentors field specialists. Clearly communicates expectations and provides ongoing coaching and feedback around performance and accountability. Creates a personalized development plan that supports and drives their professional growth.Assists with Prepared Foods design and lay-out in the new store planning process. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or similar credentials from a Culinary Arts or Food Service & Hospitality Management program or equivalent experience.5+ years of professional culinary experience, including hot / cold food prep, recipe execution and customer service.2+ years in a leadership or supervisory culinary roleExperience in scratch cooking in a natural or organic food environment with strong understanding of natural, organic, and dietary-specific foods (vegan, gluten free, allergen conscious)Solid knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP standards and sanitation protocols.Proven ability to leader, coach and develop a team in a fast-paced kitchen or food service environment.Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain calm under pressure.Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, with skills to learn new programs and systems.Proficient with basic kitchen management systems and familiar with recipe database managementCollaborative, strategic thinker and problem solver, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy, to collaborate, negotiate and communicate effectively and professionally with cross-functional partners at all levels in the company.Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to meet needs of the department.Valid Food Handler's card and ServSafe certification .Why You'll Love Working at Lazy Acres Natural Market
