American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 3 NICU position in California requiring a CA RN license, BLS, and NRP.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) within an acute care hospital settingUnit has 21 NICU beds, with additional beds in Peds and PICUPatient population includes neonates from 23 weeks and above with common diagnoses such as cooling, feeders / growersNurse-to-patient ratios range from 1 : 1 to 1 : 3 in NICU, Peds 1 : 1 or 1 : 4, PICU 1 : 1 or 1 : 2Uses ventilators, including oscillators, Draeger, CPAP, and high flow nasal cannulaCharting is done using Cerner EMRNight shifts, 12 hours (7p-7a), with self-scheduling and every other weekend requiredExpected to float to Nursery and Peds units; may float to Mother Baby if experiencedCall may be assigned for low census (standby)No nurse aides on unit; charge nurse present in NICU almost alwaysResponsibilities include care of critically ill neonates, including cooling cases and advanced respiratory supportNICU orientation consists of 2-3 shifts, with 2 shifts for Peds if floatingStaff must wear navy scrubsTwo major holidays are required during contractOnsite pharmacy and RT support available 24 / 7First-time travelers are welcome to applyReturning candidates must not have worked at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity in the past year\n \n Requirements\n
