Overview
The Paving Superintendent is responsible for managing all aspects of paving projects to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency from start to finish. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to coordinate crews, equipment, and schedules while meeting budgetary goals.
Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate startup and mobilization of crews per project schedule.
- Manage work crews, ensuring safety compliance and high-quality work.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and other Superintendents to plan resources and schedules.
- Oversee equipment management, material deliveries, and inventory control.
- Maintain project documentation, including daily logs, time sheets, and purchase orders.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure scope compliance.
- Monitor progress, address on-site issues, and adjust schedules as needed.
- Ensure compliance with Valley Corp. standards and government regulations.
- Support training and development of foremen, operators, and other crew members.
- Assist with closeout tasks including punch lists and final project documentation.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; degree in construction or related field preferred.5+ years of heavy civil construction experience with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.Strong knowledge of construction methods, equipment, and safety practices.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.Proficiency with construction management software and reporting tools.Valid driver's license and clean driving record.Physical Requirements
