Job Description

As a Bilingual Mill Operator in the Coloring Department, you will operate the sample mill drum to tan and dye leather hides according to detailed formulas and job specifications. This position is hands-on and requires close attention to detail, consistent quality control, and the ability to follow precise instructions. To be successful long-term in this role, candidates must be bilingual (Spanish / English), able to color match accurately, perform basic math, and correctly measure both liquid and solid products.

Responsibilities :

  • Operate the sample mill drum to tan and dye hides to exact specifications
  • Verify and handle pre-weighed chemicals accurately
  • Monitor temperature, run time, and pH levels during the tanning process and perform routine color checks and make adjustments as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of all formulas, adjustments, and inventory use
  • Load / unload hides and complete repetitive physical tasks including lifting, bending, and turning

    • Qualifications and Requirements :

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Ability to color match, measure accurately, and perform basic math
  • Must be at least 18 and able to lift, bend, squat, and stand for full shifts
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Positive attitude with the ability to work independently or on a team

    The base salary range for this position is $18 / hr, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
