Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatrics Critical Care Float Pool position requiring an OH or compact RN license and willingness to float to multiple units.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool within a hospital setting
  • Float to NICU, CV PICU, Emergency Department, stepdown, and medical-surgical units as needed
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 00
  • Must be willing to comply with facility float assignments across designated units
  • Uses Epic EMR system and experience with Epic is required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Responsible for providing critical care nursing to pediatric patients across a variety of units as assigned
  • Must remain flexible and prepared to float to different units depending on hospital needs
  • First time travelers considered on a case by case basis, typically with more than 3 years of experience and trauma background
  • Holiday coverage required through New Year's; time off is not permitted on 12 / 24 or 12 / 25
  • Strict attendance and punctuality policies are enforced
  • No previous permanent employment at the facility within the last two years

    • Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
  • At least 2 years of pediatric critical care nursing experience highly preferred
  • Level 1 Trauma experience preferred, especially for first time travelers
  • Experience in multiple pediatric care settings including NICU, CV PICU, and ED preferred
  • Epic EMR experience is required
  • Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager or supervisor
  • Cannot have worked as a permanent employee at the facility within the past 2 years
  • No local candidates; must live more than 60 miles from the facility
