Job Overview

Fairview is seeking Nursing Assistant for the Operating Room at The University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank in Minneapolis, MN!

This position is a 1.0 FTE (80 hours per 2 weeks), D / E / N position with 8 hour shifts with variable start times (though mostly 8am & 11am start times) and occasional weekends / holidays.

UMMC is comprised of two hospitals and dozens of adult specialty clinics located on the East and West banks of the UMMC campus in Minneapolis. It is the flagship facility of Fairview providing breakthrough medicine and redefining the health of our community.

Facilitates OR room turnover. Performs cleanup of OR

Readies OR for next patient.

Procures equipment

Properly cares for equipment and takes action for preventive maintenance.

Transports specimens and blood products.

Transports dirty case carts to decontamination area.

Provides Patient Care : Assists in transfer / positioning of patients.

Assists with preparation of patients for surgery.

Transports patient.Maintains Inventory Control.

Orders and manages supplies as directed.

Restocks department with supplies.

Makes rounds to keep current inventory in stock.

Communicates supply issues to appropriate person.

Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.

Required Qualifications :

• Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required. Ontrack participants needs to acquire the certification upon completion of the OnTrack program.
