Join our dynamic Enterprise Data team within the Experience Design organization as a Senior Product Design Manager. In this role, you will spearhead design strategies and execution for data-intensive tools and workflows, bringing clarity to complex systems and helping to define new product spaces.

Responsibilities :

Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to create user-centric designs for financial services, data tooling, and process management platforms.

Transform ambiguous problems into actionable design solutions involving GraphQL, APIs, data workflows, and task management.

Deliver production-ready design assets and collaborate through QA to maintain the highest design quality standards.

Utilize and enhance our design system within Figma.

Employ user research and usability testing to refine and improve design solutions.

Present your design work with compelling storytelling and well-defined design rationale.

Expertise in Product Design :

Enhance Capital One's design quality by leveraging your in-depth experience across interaction, visual, and service design.

Mentorship :

Mentor and consult with fellow designers to advance the design discipline and build team culture.

Shape product direction by leveraging insights and aligning user needs with overall company strategy.

Human-Centered Approach :

Advocate for methodologies that align customer needs with business goals using data and research insights.

Understand market trends and customer needs to guide design engagement effectively.

Take ownership of the problem-solving approach and creatively explore solutions for complex challenges.

Present designs clearly to various stakeholders, integrating design frameworks and research insights.

We are seeking candidates with a strong portfolio that showcases leadership, process, results, and impact evidence.

Basic Qualifications :

Minimum of 6 years of experience in a Product Design role.

Minimum of 6 years of experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma.

Preferred Qualifications :

10+ years of UX design experience focusing on technical and data-heavy products.

Deep expertise in designing workflows and systems for enterprise or financial services.

Familiarity with API-driven product design, specifically GraphQL.

Advanced skills in Figma for wireframing, prototyping, and collaborating on design systems.

Ability to navigate ambiguous environments and bring clarity through innovative design.

Strong portfolio reflecting complex workflow design, and technical UX work.

Experience in data visualization.

Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

This position is located at Capital One's office in McLean, VA, which offers a competitive salary of $193,000 - $220,300 for this role.
