This role involves diagnosing and treating patients with complex wounds and conditions requiring hyperbaric therapy, while also collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
- Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with chronic wounds and related conditions, developing individualized treatment plans.
- Administer hyperbaric oxygen therapy in accordance with established protocols, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care for patients undergoing wound care treatment.
- Monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary based on clinical evaluations and patient feedback.
- Educate patients and their families about wound care management, hyperbaric therapy benefits, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate medical records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives aimed at advancing knowledge in wound care and hyperbaric medicine.
- Uphold the highest standards of medical practice while contributing to the continuous improvement of departmental protocols.
- Requirements
- Medical degree from an accredited institution with board certification in a relevant specialty.
- Proven experience in hyperbaric medicine or wound care management is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in EHR systems, along with familiarity with medical imaging practices.
- Strong background in critical care experience, including airway management and acute pain management.
- Knowledge of various medical specialties such as endocrinology, cardiology, gastroenterology, and dermatology is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to perform procedures such as suturing, IV infusion, and ostomy care as required by patient needs.
