The Psychiatric Technician serves as a vital member of our interdisciplinary care team, supporting patients across the continuum of both brain health and mental health services. This role ensures patients receive compassionate, timely, and clinically sound care by assisting with screening, safety assessments, and treatment coordination. Working closely with clinicians and care teams, the Psychiatric Technician helps facilitate seamless patient experiences from initial contact through ongoing treatment and follow-up.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient screening calls for individuals presenting with mental health and / or brain health concerns, following structured protocols and applying sound judgment to assess needs.
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients, assisting with intake form completion and onboarding processes.
- Support patients in understanding and navigating insurance coverage, collaborating with the billing team to confirm eligibility and facilitate access to care.
- Document all patient interactions accurately and promptly in designated dashboards and the electronic health record (EHR).
- Identify potential safety risks and escalate concerns in accordance with organizational risk management procedures.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and care coordinators to ensure patients are connected to the appropriate care pathways.
- Support treatment planning and discharge processes with clinical teams to ensure timely, coordinated services.
- Respond to patient inquiries via phone, secure messaging, and email, while managing outbound calls for engagement and follow-up.
- Schedule intake and follow-up appointments, coordinating logistics based on clinical recommendations of patients treatment team and patient needs.
- Maintain compliance with clinical, legal, and ethical documentation standards.
- Participate in supervision, team meetings, and professional development activities to maintain high standards of care and alignment with best practices.
- Promote a patient centered approach that fosters trust, compassion, and clear communication throughout the care journey.
- Serve as the liaison between levels of care, ensuring continuity and appropriate transfer of clinical documentation.
- Coordinate appointment rescheduling and manage related administrative workflows and key tasks.
- Facilitate educational therapy groups as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Current intact California Psychiatric Technician license.Compliance with all state board requirements, including fingerprinting and application submission.Must physically reside in the State of California.Proficiency with telehealth platforms and remote clinical workflows.Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.Experience working in a mental health clinic, psychiatric setting, or medical office, with a strong understanding of patient workflows and multidisciplinary collaboration.Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with psychiatric presentations and safety planning.Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment.
