Position Title : Registered Respiratory Therapist
Location : Miami, FL
Schedule : Full-time, Mixed Shifts (Rotating Weekends)
Overview
We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in an acute care hospital setting. The ideal candidate will be an integral part of the patient care team, performing diagnostic tests, therapeutic procedures, and monitoring patients receiving mechanical ventilation.
The facility is a large, full-service hospital with advanced trauma, burn, surgical, women’s and children’s, behavioral health, and diagnostic services. It is recognized for clinical excellence and provides opportunities for professional development in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
Assist with placement of artificial airways.
Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
Monitor patient responses and intervene as appropriate in case of adverse events.
Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
Respond to emergent situations, ensuring airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation.
Qualifications
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) / Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
Associate Degree or equivalent from an accredited vocational or respiratory therapy program.
Knowledge of respiratory care procedures, mechanical ventilation, and diagnostic testing.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and the healthcare team.
Preferred Experience
Previous acute care hospital experience.
Experience with invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.
Familiarity with emergency airway management and patient resuscitation.
