CREDIT ANALYST - SPECIALTY LENDING

POSITION SUMMARY : Provides credit analysis for the warehouse lending and equipment finance teams, coordination of credit reviews, and ongoing monitoring of the warehouse and equipment finance portfolios. The desired candidate will use independent judgement and discretion to investigate credit requests and manage credit risk within the portfolio.

THIS ROLE IS ACCOUNTABLE FOR :

  • Analyzing financial data of clients / prospects
  • Preparing loan reviews / presentation on clients / prospects
  • Assisting in the sales process
  • Credit risk monitoring support

Accountability / Responsibilities

Analyzing financial data of clients / prospects - 30%

  • Attend and participate in client / prospect meetings with Loan Officers to help evaluate the credit worthiness of the client / prospect.
  • Analyze client financial data, such as financial statements, financial ratios, credit reports, third party-sources, and other relevant data to assess credit worthiness.
  • Provide accurate information and sound judgment regarding existing and prospective clients‘ creditworthiness to Loan Officers.
  • Utilizes 3rd party credit reports to make accurate credit decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Preparing loan reviews / presentation on clients / prospects - 30%

  • Proactively communicates with Loan Officers and clients to obtain all information necessary to effectively complete annual reviews on time.
  • Underwrite and present credit committee presentations while adhering to the bank’s credit policies and guidelines.
  • Support the credit department in planning and coordinating the warehouse and equipment finance review and risk rating processes.
  • Assist with preparation and execution of facility documentation.
  • Provide assistance in the general administration of the warehouse and equipment finance portfolios and proactively seek out and drive process improvements.
  • Assisting in the sales process - 25%

  • Perform pre-call industry and company research and assist in the sales process.
  • Assist the Loan Officers to ensure the CRM is updated for clients and prospects.
  • Attend and participate in prospect meetings with Loan Officers to help evaluate the credit worthiness of the prospect.
  • Credit risk monitoring support - 15%

  • Support the credit department in the preparation of reports on the quality and trends for both the warehouse and equipment finance portfolios.
  • Monitor the current status and potential risk elements of existing clients, communicate with clients to resolve issues, and bring significant items to the attention of the Loan Officer with recommendations for action.
  • Recommend continuous improvement to the bank’s credit monitoring and reporting mechanisms.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related discipline
  • Proficient in MS Office products, particularly Excel
  • Previous banking experience (1-3 years) a plus
  • Workload Management – Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Interpersonal Skills – Ability to establish and cultivate trusting professional working relationships,
  • Communication – Ability to express ideas and opinions clearly and directly, both verbally and in writing
