Overview :
A Glass and Aluminum Superintendent oversees and manages all activities related to the supply and installation of glass and aluminum products on construction projects. They coordinate, manage and train foreman, ensure quality standards, maintain safety protocols, to ensure timely and accurate completion of glass-related work. They insure that all envelope system installed will meet manufacturers requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervise and coordinate daily operations of projects with Foreman, Operation Manager, Shop Manager and Project Manager
- Review project specifications, blueprints, and drawings to plan glass and aluminum installation activities.
- Manage, Train and Coordinate Foreman and all of their activities
- Measurement and layout of all openings so materials can be ordered and install.
- Schedule and assign work to glass installers, ensuring efficient use of labor and resources.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all phases of work.
- Inspect glass and aluminum materials and finished installation for quality and adherence to specifications.
- Coordinate with Foreman, Operations Manager, Shop Manager, Project Managers, to resolve issues and ensure project milestones are met.
- Manage inventory of glass materials, tools, and equipment.
- Train and mentor glass and aluminum installation Foreman and staff to maintain high standards of workmanship.
- Prepare progress reports and documentation, make sure all daily logs are completed by project foreman related to glass and aluminum activities.
- Handle any on-site challenges related to glass work, including troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Development and training of installation crews
Qualifications :
Proven experience in glass installation or glazing, preferably with supervisory experience.Strong knowledge of glass and system types, installation techniques, and safety standards.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.Excellent leadership and communication skills.Familiarity with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment and manage multiple tasks.Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.Education :
