Job Title : Payroll Processing Specialist
The purpose of this role is to guide the effective delivery and implementation of payroll processing for North America by supporting the timely, accurate and efficient payroll file processing, payments, garnishments, LOAs, responses to questions and all other payroll transaction processes in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. You will support the post payroll confirmation processes, reconciliations, and other specialized payroll activities.

Work Arrangement : Hybrid (2-3 days in the office)
The salary range for this role is between $29.75 / hour and $44.50 / hour depending on experience.
Your New Role
Partner with payroll vendors to process bi-weekly payroll and system changes by following procedures to ensure data is timely, accurate, complete and meets business, legal and regulatory requirements
Ensure employee data changes such as new hires, terminations, direct deposits and tax elections are complete and accurate for payroll processing; audit for accuracy
Administer pay and deduction related inputs including interfaces and file feeds in partnership with payroll vendors
Ensure all time entry is accurate and complete, and related approvals are maintained for payroll processing
Review audit reports for completeness and accuracy, resolving errors as needed
Create and maintain reports by preparing information for dissemination and / or for review by supervisors as needed. Analyze for data integrity to identify discrepancies, research root causes and develop solutions
Assists with General Ledger and variance research / reconciliation.
Assist team with preparing and providing information for audits
Provide personalized and quality customer service by researching employee inquiries and providing resolution in an accurate, timely, thorough, helpful and respectful way
Resolve problems by assessing need for escalation of issues and influence positive change by analyzing employee inquiries and effectively communicating with internal customers
Streamline process flow and increase productivity by helping assign resources, identifying need for change and implementing solutions to continuously improve
Required Education
Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Required Experience
4 years relevant experience
Preferred Competencies / Skills
Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication. Build effective relationships
Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills
Current federal, state and local tax knowledge and employee tax set-up requirements by state
Basic General Ledger knowledge and ability to research variances
Payroll procedures and timekeeping
Ability to audit all payroll items, identify and lead on resolutions
Demonstrated technical aptitude to understand data flow and system interaction

Preferred Experience
Payroll processing in a multi-state environment with all local taxes
Some General ledger knowledge
Experience with SAP (ADP Globalview) Payroll systems preferred but not required
Preferred Licenses / Certifications
Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
Preferred Knowledge
HR industry trends, standards and best practices
Current federal, state, labor, employment and tax laws
Garnishments, LOAs and multi-state processing
Payroll procedures and timekeeping
Compensation Package :
The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate's professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE's annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance.
