Description :

Set up and operate glazing-related tools. Fit, clean, caulk and set glass.

Requirements : Essential Functions

  • Assists with fitting, setting and sealing glass into window sash and door panel openings using appropriate silicon and proper caulking techniques and removes excess silicon. (60-70%)
  • Cleans and buffs glass. (15-20%)
  • Performs machine care and maintenance procedures, end of shift duties, and housekeeping procedures. (10%)
  • Completes process instructions on Travelers. (5%)
  • Wears required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensures safe operation of all equipment.
  • Works on special projects and performs other duties as needed. (5-10%)

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Able to interpret instructions both written and oral.
  • Able to work in a team with co-workers to resolve work-related issues.
  • Knowledge of basic shop math, including the ability to measure to 1 / 32”.
  • Able to learn to read, understand, and interpret shop orders.
  • Able to maintain a 60% production efficiency rating.
  • Able to maintain an error rate less than 10%.
  • Able to work with some supervision, 50% or less of schedule.
  • Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous work experience in manufacturing setting preferred but not required.
  • Physical Demands

  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Lifting. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important because it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.
  • Stooping. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Kneeling. Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
  • Crouching. Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Pushing. Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward or outward.

  • Visual acuity requirements. The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
