Layout Engineer
Location : Oshkosh, WI
Pay : $46-48 / hour
Contract position with the opportunity for it to be extended or transition to a direct role.
Overview
As a Layout Engineer, you'll support engineering teams by preparing and updating drawing layouts using computer-aided drafting (CAD) software. You will be instrumental in creating both new and revised component designs and Bills of Materials (BOM), ensuring alignment with organizational standards-especially for projects supporting Defense or Government initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Update and revise existing drawings based on engineering markups and guidance
- Re-master CAD drawings to current formats and standards
- Create detailed 2D and 3D layouts under the direction of senior design team members
- Perform self-checks to maintain accuracy, dimensioning, tolerances, and proper organization in all work
- Ensure adherence to CAD specifications and company standards
- Utilize ERP systems to generate part numbers and input data according to standardized conventions
- Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Perform additional related tasks as assigned
Technical Qualifications
Required :
Experience with Creo CAD systemExperience with Windchill PLM (Product Lifecycle Management)Prior support of Defense or Government programsModel-Based Definition (MBD) experience, especially in automotive and / or aerospace settingsValid CAD cardPreferred :
GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) CertificationPrior employment with OSK (must disclose reason for departure and previous supervisor)Soft Skills & Professional Attributes

Minimum :
Associate degree in Mechanical Design or equivalentwith 2+ years of drafting / design experiencePreferred :
Associate degree or equivalentwith 3+ years of relevant experienceEquivalent : Approximately four (4) years of directly relevant on-the-job experience is considered equal to one (1) year of formal education.Additional Requirements
