Human Resources Manager - Plant
The Human Resources Manager for the Jefferson City, MO manufacturing location is the functional leader charged with developing, organizing and executing all Human Resources organizational and talent strategies to support the Jefferson City business.
REPORTING / ORG :
- The position reports solid line to the HR Director, Heavy Duty Equipment (HDE) and dotted-line to the Jefferson City location Plant Manager
- The position is part of the Power Generation business unit within the HDE group, and will work with the business unit leaders to develop, organize and execute organizational and talent strategies to support the overall business
Key Responsibilities :
Acting HR business partner supporting all plant employees in the Jefferson City, MO plant location.Ensure selection of reliable qualified employees on the basis of evaluation of skills, experience, and work historyAdminister work rules fairly and objectively; communicate policies and procedures to employees directly or through Supervisor. Ensure enforcement of same policies / procedures.Maintain / administer seniority policy.Developing a culture that fits the business model for growth, which is based on Modine values and promotes diversity, equity and inclusionLead succession planning and quarterly talent reviews within the plant to drive the development of future leadersSupport 80 / 20 initiatives through strategic planning resource allocation and data analysis.Being a Change Agent focusing on the impact of change including changes to culture, business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organizational structuresEnsuring policies comply with any laws that affect the companyOverseeing employee compensation, benefits, and payroll and implement changes if necessary in alignment with Corporate U.S. initiativesEnsure team is structured for growth and roles occupied by high potential talent who will scale as the organization growsDrive a safety culture with Operations leadership to improve safety RIR and safety behaviorsStrategic Alignment and Execution :
Be a strategic partner to the Plant Manager responsible for ensuring functional alignment with the plant's strategic growth initiativesParticipate in portions of key annual strategic processes : Annual Operating Plan, Strategic Plan and drive key HR processes including the PDP, Talent Development Process and othersFeedback and Coaching for Plant Manager and Staff :
Identify specific development areas and provide feedback on individual development plans for the Plant leadership teamOffer timely, actionable feedback as opportunities arise to improve individual and team performanceOrganizational and Cultural Development :
Coordinate and manage training initiatives related to quarterly talent reviews, leadership development, employee skills training, and developmentCoordinate and manage performance management process, driving performance management further into the cultureDrive employee engagement through targeted activities and programs, enabling participation in annual survey to measure progress.Build a diverse team and ensure an inclusive cultureChange Management :
With Plant Manager, develop plant leadership team skills in change managementSupport the Plant leadership Team in defining the organizational / cultural transformation strategy and framework in order to ensure a smooth, effective and sustainable transformation, and support the implementation as neededEmployee Relations :
Provide oversight for the interpretation and guidance relative to company policies and proceduresOversee administration of benefit programs.Promote internal communication and manages employee issues to satisfactory resolution, providing guidance to supervisors and managers addressing employee issuesEnsure site organizational compliance with all labor laws and guidelinesEnsure communication and HR presence at all business facilitiesMaintain a positive employee relations culture by coordinating and participating in appropriate plant recognition activities.Compliance and HR Administration :
Develop, implement and maintain processes that ensure regulatory and organizational policy complianceDevelop and communicate HR metrics to Plant leadership team, highlighting their impact on the business.Interprets / advises plant management on a variety of policies / procedures.Advises plant management on employee discipline and / or termination of employment issues as necessary.Staffing and Recruitment :
Develop and execute a strategic recruitment plan designed to institutionalize top-grading and the continuous improvement of the business's talent pool at all levels, salaried and hourlyDeliver a staffing plan that aligns with business objectives, incorporates traditional and non-traditional recruitment sources and attracts qualified diverse candidates to the organizationPartner with Corporate HR to strengthen employee "on-boarding" processLeadership Characteristics :

Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field. An MBA or Masters in Human Resources is desired.5+ years of experience in Human Resources Business Partner in a manufacturing location including past leadership / supervisory assignment(s)Demonstrated successful track record working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment is requiredDemonstrated success in driving culture changeOrganizational development and / or coaching experience is required.Strong strategic and analytical skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsExperience with HRIS systems is a plus
