Licensed Practical Nurse

Job Summary :

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide nursing care to geriatric long-term care residents, focusing on medication administration and oversight of CNA colleagues. The LPN will work evenings / nights, weekends, and holidays as per unit needs, providing direct patient care, including wound care, in a long-term care environment. The role requires critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently while providing care with dignity and respect.

Responsibilities :

• Provide direct patient care to geriatric long-term care residents.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Oversee and guide CNA colleagues.
• Perform wound care.
• Monitor and document patient conditions, reporting changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to assess and address patient needs.
• Work independently while maintaining a high standard of care.
• Ensure patient dignity and respect in all interactions.
• Gather and report patient data.
• Carry out orders and perform therapeutic procedures.
• Document patient care and related duties appropriately.
