Acosta Sales Opportunity

Responsible for establishing and overseeing the tactical execution of all new business opportunities consistent with the core strategies outlined by the Executive Committee.

Responsibilities include :

  • Overseeing the development of top-to-top Acosta presentations as it pertains to growth through regional representation of Acosta principals.
  • Overseeing the development and execution of new business opportunities of both principals and customers of Acosta.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key principals and retailers to maximize opportunities to serve on Broker Advisory Boards and other professional associations designed to strengthen Acosta's positions in the marketplace. Periodically visit key principals and customers.
  • Participating in the recruitment, selection, and hiring of key personnel for all new business opportunities and / or expansion into new territories.
  • Serving as a contributing participant of the Management Committee responsible for maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of the company in sales operations, financial results, personal development, and reward for employees and management structure and systems.
  • Developing and maintaining a good working knowledge of all corporate policies and administrative procedures to ensure consistent implementation within all new business ventures.
  • Providing a leadership example to all Acosta employees, principals, and customers which embodies the company's operating philosophy and generates a high regard for the company within the industry.
  • Participating in new principal interviews as requested by the President.
  • Planning and directing negotiations as requested by the President relating to the merger and / or acquisition for new business consistent with the core strategies developed by the Executive Committee.
  • Serving as a senior advisor to the team leader utilizing existing relationships and the trust of these relationships to key Acosta personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

Work and Experience Requirements :

Bachelors degree required or equivalent work experience

15 or more years in sales or marketing positions of successively increased responsibility

Prior experience in senior management level sales capacity with a food broker or major national packaged goods company

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required :

Proficient in a variety of software packages used to support the sales function.

Ability to analyze sales and marketing information needed to make effective sales presentations.

Solid understanding of the fundamental principles of financial management and possess the ability to effectively monitor and control expenses.

Must be able to effectively communicate the company's operating philosophy, goals, and objectives to all employees
