Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Brand Journalism & Content Strategy serves as a strategic leader in shaping DaVita’s external editorial voice and storytelling approach. This role oversees the development and execution of a comprehensive content strategy that elevates DaVita’s reputation, amplifies its mission, and engages key audiences through compelling, human-centered narratives.

A key focus of this role is the transformation of the DaVita Newsroom into the organization’s core storytelling hub—an editorial platform that reflects the company’s values, showcases innovation in kidney care, and highlights the voices of patients, teammates, physician partners, and more. The Senior Manager will collaborate across Mercury and other business lanes to ensure alignment and impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the editorial strategy and content roadmap for the DaVita Newsroom, including platform redesign, content planning, and audience engagement.
  • Develop and implement brand journalism initiatives that support enterprise priorities and elevate DaVita’s thought leadership.
  • Provide counsel on external storytelling efforts across owned and earned channels, ensuring consistency, quality, and strategic alignment.
  • Collaborate with a team of content creators, editors, and external partners to produce high-impact stories, videos, and multimedia assets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Legal, Clinical, Operations, and more—to ensure content is accurate, timely, and aligned with enterprise objectives.
  • Work cross-functionally to amplify key narratives and integrate storytelling across campaigns.
  • Monitor content performance and audience insights to inform strategy and optimize engagement.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 7+ years of experience in editorial strategy, brand journalism, or content marketing
  • Proven experience managing content teams and cross-functional projects
  • Strong editorial judgment and storytelling skills across formats (written, video, multimedia)
  • Familiarity with content management systems, SEO, and analytics tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strategic thinker with ability to translate complex topics into compelling narratives
  • Detail-oriented with strong project management and relationship-building skills
  • Comfort with ambiguity and adaptability to changing priorities
  • Service-oriented approach with high accountability and resilience

    Compensation The Salary Range for the role is $75,200.00 - $110,400.00 per year. Compensation will depend on qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. DaVita offers a competitive total rewards package. See benefits at https : / / careers.davita.com / benefits
