Executive Director of the Center for Artificial Intelligence (AI)
The Executive Director of the Center for Artificial Intelligence (AI) at MUSC reports directly to the Chief AI Officer (CAIO) and plays a critical leadership role in advancing MUSC's AI strategy across its academic, research, and healthcare missions. This position oversees the Center's operations, including strategic planning, communications, outreach, and education. The Executive Director manages internal coordination such as meetings, symposia, and advisory board sessions, and leads the development of digital content, science writing, and social media engagement. They also supervise administrative support for the Center's cores and programs, ensuring smooth execution of initiatives aligned with institutional priorities.
In collaboration with the CAIO and key stakeholders across MUSC, the Executive Director helps define and promote the Center's vision, translating complex AI research and clinical innovations into accessible narratives for diverse audiences. They serve as a liaison between the Center and MUSC leadership, faculty, clinicians, donors, and the public, working closely with the Development and Communications offices to elevate the Center's profile. The ideal candidate will bring strategic insight, operational excellence, and strong communication skills, along with a deep understanding of AI's potential to transform healthcare and research.
