The EMT responds to emergencies and treats employees that have been injured or are ill due to work-related incidents in designated facility. Supports the Health & Safety (H&S) Department to effectively identify, treat, investigate, and prevent occupational injuries and illnesses. Provides first responder training (AED, CPR, First Aid, etc.) per protocol. Manages daily support activities within a location.
Position Responsibilities may include :
- Provide emergency medical care to injured or ill persons
- Function within the scope of medical care as defined protocol and state, regional, and local regulatory agencies
- Follow medical protocols and Company procedures
- Prepare documentation and reports accurately and timely and maintain records (Injury treatment documentation, Employee Files, Incident Investigation Files, etc.)
- Train first responders as needed and provide support and guidance to first responders
- Coordinate and run audiometric testing requirements
- Ensure regulatory compliance
- Assist with H&S compliance audits
- Assist with incident investigations and required documentation
- Assist with post-incident case management
- May perform post-accident or reasonable cause drug and alcohol testing as needed
- Assists the Worker’s Compensation Administrator as required
- Maintain confidential information
- Continue to expand knowledge base of basic medical / legal principles
- Ensure personal well-being
- Perform additional projects / duties to support ongoing business needs

2–5 years of experience as an EMTEducation / Certification :
High school diploma or GED requiredState EMT Certification requiredPeople Management : No
Physical Requirements / Work Environment :
The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
