State Monitoring Unit Program Coordinator
Driven? Independent? Leader? The Nebraska Department of Labor has an exciting opportunity to join the Finance team as the State Monitoring Unit Program Coordinator. This position will monitor programs authorized under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014 (WIOA) and other programs, as assigned. Additionally, this position will supervise another specifically Labor related compliance program relevant to Unemployment Tax. Candidates for this position should be willing to learn the nuances of the grant requirements for Reemployment Services and Unemployment Insurance. Experience with collaborative work and tools are a plus.

Requirements / Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications : Post high school coursework / training in : public or business administration, human services, social / behavioral sciences or closely related field OR Three years' experience in a human services agency, organization, or program with responsibility for program planning and development, employment, job development and / or staff development or in the delivery of employment and / or training services. Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in accounting, public administration, business administration or closely related field or four years' experience in employment, job development, or monitoring and evaluating delivery of program services.
Other Qualifications : Must have a valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Knowledge of : Federal and State laws and regulations relevant to the agency's programs; quality assurance / performance improvement principles and methods of analyzing continuous improvement; business and management principles including strategic planning, resource allocation leadership and coordination of people and resources; principles of supervision and staff development; budget administration practices.
Skill in : communicating to convey information so others will understand; using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions; identifying complex problems to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Ability to : learn, apply and interpret agency policies and procedures; establish program objectives and assess progress; identify and analyze organizational and operational problems and develop and implement timely and economical solutions; formulate policies to meet identified needs, goals or objectives; perform high level analysis; apply principles of logic or synthesis functions involving planning and direction of interrelated activities in multiple departments; exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in critical and / or unexpected situations; establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with managers / administrators, community organizations and the public; plan, assign and supervise the work of others.
