Patient Registration Representative
Receives and interviews patients to collect and verify pertinent demographic, clinical and financial data. Obtains copies of relevant documents including Physician Orders and most recent insurance cards and where applicable verifies eligibility of insurance and obtains authorization for services as necessary. Collects required payments or makes necessary financial arrangements as appropriate for assigned work area. Performs order entry for tests as appropriate for assigned work area. Prepares and distributes appropriate reports, documents and Patient Identification items and provides patient education in accordance with Federal and State Regulations, Payor requirements and HMC Policies and Procedures including but not limited to Patient Identification Bands, HMC Privacy Notice, Important Message from Medicare, HMC General Consent, Patient Rights, etc. Assists in working reports and worklists to correct errors or identify and resolve missing information. May perform Bed Control Function.
