Job Summary

This position will work primarily with the Safety Education Office to create content for multiple outlets including but not limited to online training, website, and social media platforms The position will also assist with communications supporting educational outreach efforts

Job Duties

Create original social media content related to EH&S campaigns, events, and initiatives

Assist with producing and editing video content and still images for EH&S online training and safety education promos

Set up and maintain media equipment before and after events, training sessions, etc

Periodically record training sessions, events, etc

Maintain an organized file management system of EH&S images and video clips

Other duties relating to media production as assigned by the EH&S Department

Desired Qualifications

Majoring in digital communication, media / multimedia, mass communication / media studies, or public relations, advertising, and applied communication.

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Experience working with video equipment

Aptitude for storytelling through editing

Experience working with social media platforms

Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and collaboration skills

Ability to follow directions and receive and implement feedback

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and technologically savvy

Ability to manage time appropriately to meet project deadlines

Who May Apply

• Students enrolled at FIU, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.
• Student must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate, during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
• Upon credits decreasing, award being canceled, or graduating, FWS employment must end.
