Job Title : Controls Engineer

Location : Napoleon, OH 43545

Job Type : 12-Month Contract (possible extension)

Shift : 4 : 00 PM – 12 : 00 AM, Mon–Fri

Job Responsibilities :

  • Review / debug PLC logic, error-proofing, and data collection functions.
  • Lead root cause analysis and downtime elimination.
  • Support lean manufacturing layouts, continuous improvement, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Review / approve electrical, mechanical, and control schematics, BOMs, and drawings.
  • Develop and update PMs, critical spares lists, PFMEAs, Operator Instructions, Control Plans, and Process Flow Charts.
  • Interface with vendors for system design, build, and installation.
  • Support quality and problem-solving tools (5 Why, Fishbone, 7 Step, etc.).
  • Ensure a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.

Qualifications :

  • 3+ years of Controls Engineering experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills (electrical & mechanical).
  • Proficiency with RSLogix 5000 and RSLinx (required).
  • Experience with fastener torque systems (preferred), barcode / RFID, pneumatic devices, and safety equipment.
  • Knowledge of PFMEAs, Control Plans, Process Flow Charts, and gage / layout procedures.
  • Skilled in MS Office, AutoCAD, and VisView.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Able to support extended hours, weekends, and multiple shifts as needed.
