Artemis Fine Art Services has an exciting position available. Looking for a dependable and hardworking individual to join our crate shop team. As a Crate Shop Member, you will be responsible for the assembly, construction, and packaging of wooden crates used for shipping goods. You must work well with others, be physically fit, and have a strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate will also have a passion for working with their hands, the ability to follow precise instructions, and be able to maintain a safe and organized work environment. To work in all aspects for the build and packing of crates to specific measurements for decorative arts, fine art and antiquities.

Key Responsibilities
Build crates, following the instructions of the Crating & Packing ManagerHandle and pack decorative arts, fine art and antiquities, as well as other personal effects efficientlyEnsure all items are packed proficiently to reduce the risk of breakages at all timesPack artworks, antiquities and fine furniture for transportation and storageHandle and control all paperwork when on site or working in the field, including all condition reporting for items as neededProper handling of art objects, fragile and artistic material, antiquities and fine furnitureEnsure a high degree of detail and focus on every jobAdhere to all required safety procedures, in line with company and OSHA guidanceEnsure crate shop is well maintained, organized and tidy at the end of each dayAssist with installation projects as neededGeneral
Ensure compliance with all HR policies and procedures, and all other Company policies and procedures in placeAdhere to all Health & Safety policies and proceduresTo act at all times in the best interests of Cadogan Tate, its customers and its employeesSkills, Knowledge and Expertise
High school diploma / GED requiredThree years of experience in woodwork / carpentry and crate buildingThree years of experience in the art handling industry; packing, handling and installing on a local and interstate basisThree years of logistical, warehousing and moving experienceExcellent problem-solving skillsFamiliarity with OSHA regulationsExcellent organizational and time management skillsImpeccable communication and multitasking skillsAbility to accurately execute detailed paperwork and condition reportingTeam player, able to work with all levels of staff in a dynamic environmentComfortable in a results-driven workplaceExperience with the use of hand trucks, pallet jacks, jbars, dollies and other necessary logistics equipmentAbility to safely lift 70 pounds and maneuver objects of substantial size and weight on a daily basis without damage to object or person, including the ability to push and pull 150 pounds on a dolly or cartAbility to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, crouch, twist and reach overheadBenefits
