Senior Network Engineer / Virtualization Specialist

Requirements

Education / Training :

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering or science discipline preferred
• Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ex : Security+) required
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA) certification preferred
• VMware Certified Technical Associate - Data Center Virtualization (VCTA), VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) , VCAP Design, VCAP Deploy or VCDX-DCV Certification preferred

Experience :

• 10+ years of general (full-time) work experience
• 7+ years of directly related experience
• years of experience working in a management or leadership role
• Experience in Internet Protocols (e.g. DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSL), firewall configuration and troubleshooting required
• Previous experience writing and presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools required
• Deep understanding of Foundational VCF Infrastructure including Virtualization (vSphere), Networking (NSX) and Storage (vSAN) required
• Fundamental understanding of how traffic flows through logical routers with the ability to implement these concepts in an NSX environment required
• Experience creating and configuring virtual distributed switches required

Preferred Experience With :

• PIM, L2 and L3 multicast and type I encryption devices
• VXLAN, Juniper Apstra, VMware Aria and RHEL Ansible
• Python or Powershell programming and scripting

Security :

• Must be a US citizen
• Candidate must be in possession of a minimum DoD issued Secret Clearance

Physical Requirements :

• Able to occasionally reach with hands and arms
• Prolonged periods of computer screen use, while sitting or standing at a desk
• Adhere to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
• Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a time

Salary : $105,000 - 120,000
