Overview
We\'re seeking a Substation Electrical Engineer
- Staff Engineer to join our team supporting clients across the U.S. and internationally. This role is key to shaping the resiliency, reliability, and economic operation of the electric grid.
As a Staff Engineer, you\'ll lead the design of high-voltage substations (13kV-500kV), provide consulting services, and deliver impactful solutions on projects ranging from small distribution upgrades to large-scale transmission developments.
What you\'ll do :
Lead the design of substation physical layouts, grounding, lightning protection, raceways, AC / DC auxiliary power, and control building arrangements.Develop protection & control deliverables : single lines, three lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, and relay panel designs.Prepare proposals, scopes, cost estimates, and execution plans.Perform engineering studies and write supporting reports (grounding, lightning, AC / DC load).Create equipment specifications and support procurement / factory acceptance testing.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (Civil / Structural, Transmission, Networks, etc.).Mentor junior engineers and review the work of peers.Provide short-term field support during construction.Engage in business development and client interactions.What we\'re looking for :
Bachelor\'s in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) and 3+ years\' experience (Master\'s with 2+ years also considered).Experience in consulting and substation design preferred.Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and analysis software.Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.EIT certification preferred.Locations
