Join a dedicated team as Lead Medical Assistant in our Ambulatory Surgery Center, where you'll play a vital role in supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiac, peripheral vascular, and cardiac electrophysiology procedures that save lives and improve patient health. With brand new state-of-the-art facilities and a supportive environment, you'll work alongside leading cardiologists and healthcare professionals, utilizing your skills to ensure the highest standards of care in our dynamic catheterization lab. This role involves pre-procedural, intra-procedural, and post-procedural patient care, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Essential Functions of the Role :

  • Assists team with patient care during all phases of the patient stay in the surgery center. May assist care team during procedures.
  • Assist with scheduling, patient communications, ordering of supplies, and sterilization of equipment.
  • Mentors and guides Medical Assistant teams, assists with managing team timekeeping and schedules
  • Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and / or recording medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit or treatment.
  • Educates patients by providing medication and diet information and instructions; answering questions.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential and in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Serves and protects the physician or health care provider practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhances health care practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • 4 years clinical healthcare experience required
  • CPR Certification Required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word / Excel
  • EMR experience
  • Knowledge of sterile procedure and aseptic technique.
  • Desired Qualifications :

  • Cardiology experience
  • MA education
  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • EMR Experience
  • ACLS
  • Physical Requirements

    This position requires full range of body motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds.

    Work Environment

    Work is performed in a surgery center environment. Work in a clinical setting has the potential for exposure to blood and bodily fluids, and infectious pathogens. Must be able to use protective equipment as required.
