We are seeking a qualified Estimator / Project Manager to join our team in the Preconstruction department. If you are interested, we would like to speak with you!

Responsibilities

The Estimator / Project Manager will :

  • Review and analyze project designs, evaluate constructability concerns, and prepare budgets and estimates.
  • Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Perform accurate quantity take-offs and develop project plans and schedules.
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare estimates for project proposals.

    • Essential Functions

  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs, including import / export, backfill, piping, etc., and organize estimates for clarity.
  • Use historical data and current software to prepare self-performed estimates.
  • Conduct site visits, review design documents, and identify value engineering opportunities.
  • Facilitate bidding processes and maximize coverage for all scopes.
  • Engage proactively in bidding and negotiations, maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Assess and mitigate potential risks, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Develop project schedules, understand various construction methods, and ensure smooth transfer to operations.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and pursue ongoing training.
  • Represent the company professionally and uphold quality standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    • Computer Equipment and Software Requirements

    Required

  • Bluebeam or similar PDF takeoff software
  • Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint

    • Preferred

  • HCSS Heavybid or similar estimating software
  • Agtek or similar earthwork takeoff software
  • Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software

    • Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; PE license or ability to obtain is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in engineering, estimating, or related fields, especially in mass earthwork, underground utilities, and water / wastewater treatment plants.
