JOB SUMMARY

The Volunteer Coordinator provides comprehensive volunteer opportunities for churches, businesses, and community partners in support of the organization’s vision, mission, values, strategic plan, goals and development philosophy. Through relationships and presentation, the volunteer coordinator utilizes their skills to secure partnerships with churches, community groups, and businesses. In collaboration with the Director of Engagement - Volunteers, the coordinator helps create easy and meaningful opportunities for volunteers to engage with One More Child to accomplish the agency mission. The Volunteer Coordinator trains, equips, and works side by side with volunteers daily. This position does require availability on weekends and evenings as needed for volunteer events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

  • Work with relevant OMC employees to research and evaluate potential partners to systematically determine the best prospects for cultivation and solicitation.
  • Work with the Director to set annual goals to measure success in all areas.
  • Participate in the effective cultivation and solicitation of different organizations in the community.
  • Aid with developing, promoting, and maintaining a wide range of volunteer opportunities within the organization.
  • Collaborate with the Director to provide orientation and training for volunteers.
  • Maintain a volunteer schedule for individuals and groups and communicate accordingly with them for planning.
  • Properly document all communication and activity with all volunteers or potential volunteers and organizations in our required databases.
  • Represent OMC at speaking engagements and events throughout the community, as assigned.
  • Recruit churches, community groups, and businesses for tours, volunteer opportunities, and OMC-Global mission trips.
  • Lead recognition and reward activities that encourage volunteer retention and satisfaction.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by the Director.

  • REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Highschool degree or equivalent
  • Experience with leading teams, public speaking, project management and relationship development.
  • PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience working in a non-profit organization

  • Have had a personal conversion experience with Jesus Christ and been scripturally baptized.

  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    This position requires ability to walk and move quickly to work with volunteers on different activities, lifting materials, speaking and listening. Additionally, sitting at a computer and entering information, and speaking on the phone.
