Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Must-Have :

EVD experience required.

Joint commission stroke certified facility experience is required.

Telemetry experience required.

Epic charting experience is required.

100% nicotine-free facility.

Description :

This position is for a 20-bed unit providing intensive care to adult patients who have suffered traumatic brain injuries, strokes, epilepsy, and other head traumas.

Patients will return directly to the unit for recovery, without going to a recovery room post-operation.

Registered Nurses should be prepared to care for up to five Med Surg patients.

EVDs are placed at the bedside for use.

Patients with EEG leads implanted in the brain to detect seizures can be on the unit for up to three weeks.

Daily patient census is approximately 18.

Team collaboration is expected with various interdisciplinary support teams, including IV teams and physical therapy.

Required skills include managing ventilated patients, IV sedation, and post-neurosurgery care.

Flexibility in scheduling is expected, including weekend shifts.

RNs will need to adhere to scrub requirements specific to the facility.

Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 is mandatory, with exceptions only for medical or religious reasons.
