OVERVIEW :

  • MetroSys is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to support the ongoing operations, maintenance, and optimization of the network infrastructure for our client, Piedmont Healthcare .
  • This individual will focus on ensuring stable and secure network performance across the organization by executing configuration, troubleshooting, and documentation tasks.
  • The ideal candidate has experience working with Cisco technologies and thrives in a collaborative, healthcare-focused IT environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other Cisco equipment.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of network systems while minimizing unplanned downtime.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve basic to moderately complex network issues, escalating when necessary.
  • Document network topologies, configurations, changes, and procedures to support ongoing operations and compliance.
  • Collaborate with IT and end-user teams to provide support, training, and guidance as needed.
  • Support project implementation related to infrastructure upgrades or expansions.

    • QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • In lieu of a degree , 4 additional years of directly relevant work experience is acceptable.

    • Experience :

  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with Cisco networking hardware, including installation and maintenance.
  • Without a degree , a total of 6 years of relevant IT networking experience is required.

    • Certifications (Preferred) :

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate ( CCNA ) or higher certification is highly desirable.
