Responsibilities Work in the Cardiac ICU of a hospital setting Care for patients recovering from open heart, neuro, and vascular surgery, as well as trauma and medical overflow cases Unit has 8 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 1, 2 : 1, or 3 : 1 as required Utilizes specialized equipment including chest tubes, swans, temp pacers, cordess, cardiac continuous output, JP drains, central lines, arterial lines, trach, and G / J tubes Cerner EMR is used for charting 12-hour night shifts from 7 : 00 pm to 7 : 30 am with every other weekend required Floating may be required to MICU, SICU, or other medical units with a maximum of 4 patients Primary responsibilities include caring for critically ill cardiovascular ICU patients and managing complex medical equipment Must wear navy blue scrubs while on duty No on-call responsibilities are associated with this role Compliance with annual CMS Medicare training required Holiday coverage may be expected as scheduled Requirements Active SC or compact RN license required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Previous travel nursing experience preferred Experience in cardiovascular and critical care nursing required COVID and Flu vaccinations are required for consideration; medical and religious exemptions are accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-625207.
