American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN with strong high-risk delivery experience and proficiency in newborn care for a night shift position.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is located in a high-volume, high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit within a hospital settingUnit averages 500-600 deliveries per month with 31 rooms and 4 ORsPatient population includes midwifery clients, private OBs, and those requiring substance recovery supportRequired to circulate during deliveries and function as Baby Nurse for newborn careNight shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19 : 00–07 : 30), including every other weekend and holidays as neededFloating required to Postpartum, Antepartum, and sister mother / baby units within the stateUnit follows AWHONN staffing guidelines for patient careUses Epic EMR and electronic fetal monitoring equipmentResponsibilities include circulating deliveries, performing newborn assessments and interventions, and administering medications such as Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium SulfateMust provide continuous newborn care from delivery until transfer to postpartumCollaboration with a multidisciplinary team including midwives, OBs, and recovery services staffFull compliance with onboarding and completed modules required prior to startRotation of posted schedules every 6 weeks to meet unit needsFloating between facilities within the state, with refusal to float possibly resulting in terminationHoliday and weekend coverage is based on unit needPerm staff from other Providence facilities must have a 3-month separation before eligibility as a traveler\n \n Requirements\n
Active WA or Compact RN license requiredMinimum 3-5 years recent high-risk Labor & Delivery experience in a fast-paced, high-acuity environmentExperience circulating in L&D and providing comprehensive newborn care including eyes, thighs, assessment, and Vit K injections is mandatoryCurrent BLS and NRP certifications required; ACLS and AWHONN Advanced / Intermediate preferredMust provide at least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the past 3 yearsAbility to pass clinical review and provide proof of required certifications and current Nursys verificationEpic EMR experience requiredFirst-time travelers are not accepted for this position\n Benefits\n
