Job Title : Electrician Technician

Job Description

The Electrician Technician will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment in compliance with electrical codes and food safety regulations at a high-paced food manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, install, and maintain 3-phase power distribution, motor control centers, and plant-wide electrical systems.
  • Lead electrical troubleshooting, upgrades, and installations on high-speed production and packaging equipment.
  • Ensure all work complies with OSHA and local codes, including food plant-specific sanitary requirements.
  • Perform load calculations, short circuit analysis, and ensure proper circuit protection across plant systems.
  • Specify, program, and troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, and automation components in collaboration with controls / automation teams.
  • Coordinate with QC, Sanitation, and Production departments.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for electrical failures and implement long-term corrective actions.
  • Manage documentation including electrical drawings, schematics, PM records, and panel schedules.
  • Assist in maintaining the plant's electrical infrastructure including generators, UPS systems, and lighting.
  • Drive compliance with food industry electrical standards such as stainless enclosures and sealed conduit.
  • Ensure Lockout / Tagout, arc flash labeling, and electrical safe work practices are followed.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in electrical troubleshooting, 3-phase power systems, and PLC programming.
  • Proficiency with 480V 3-Phase systems (3+ years of experience).
  • Experience with PLCs, VFDs, control panels, motor controls and sensors, and electrical maintenance (7+ years).
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with sanitary / hygienic conduit installations and stainless enclosures.
  • Familiarity with food-grade automation equipment such as weighers, fillers, conveyors, and CIP systems.
  • Ability to read and update electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, and one-lines.
  • Working knowledge of PLC programming, VFD tuning, and industrial networking is a plus.

    Work Environment

    The position is based in a GMP environment with a climate-controlled facility. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7 : 00 am to 3 : 30 pm. Attire includes steel toes, safety glasses, hair net, beard net, long sleeve shirts, and pants, which are supplied upon offer acceptance.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $93600.00 / yr.
