Installation Supervisor

The Installation Supervisor will enforce consistent installation procedures within the region in order to drive accountability and build quality throughout the installation process. This position will enforce Vertiv Service policies, procedures, tools and customer requirements. Regular travel to installation sites is required to ensure that policies and procedures are being followed. This position will report to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure communication of Vertiv policy and procedures are consistently enforced throughout the region, driving improved quality and efficiencies
  • Ensure that a thorough job layout is completed for every project. (ie. Thorough inventory, what is received, what is missing, and what is backordered : Review all documentation, SMOP, spec, Yellow Wallet and Labels : Walk site with available On-site Workforce)
  • Conduct a walk through with the on-site workforce
  • Participate on job start up calls to identify waivers, potential issues, and agreement of overall job execution with the Project Manager and Engineer. Ensure that checklists are being utilized. Time is tracked in IVR as : Engineering I007; Installation D107
  • Build quality into the installation of the project and not at the end of the project. Ensure that Spec / SMOP steps are signed off as they are completed. Ensure installations conform to customer specifications
  • Participate on job close-out calls with Project Manager and Engineer to review all documentation, SMOP, spec, Yellow Wallet and labeling. Ensure that checklists are being utilized. Time is tracked in IVR as : Engineering I011; Installation D111
  • Schedule all leads, either Vertiv or subcontracted
  • Develop customer relationships through personal customer contact site visits, and individual or joint calls
  • Ensure the reliability for customer's network
  • Ensures employees are equipped with required personal protective equipment and receive appropriate safety training
  • 100% compliance to all safety audits for PPE, Tooling and Vehicles
  • Ensures employees are equipped with required installation tooling and test equipment
  • Provides input for and executes to the monthly billing forecast
  • Develops order schedules in conjunction with the Project Managers
  • Enforce workmanship standards are in compliance with Ask Yourself, Active Safety Program and all other appropriate SOP's
  • Identifies and escalate PCO opportunities
  • Ensure that all work is performed in a safe manner and ensure that all safety measures are met
  • Promote accident prevention and safety awareness
  • Identify and develop key installation personnel for transition into Supervisor and Manager positions
  • Enforce that all project information is tracked and managed in SAP

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications : (education, experience level, knowledge, skills, certifications).

  • BS in Business, Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize assignments
  • Experience leading remote based teams with a mix of employees, contractors and subcontractors
  • Understanding of expense management, mitigating project cost over runs and revenue forecasting
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and ability to utilize existing business systems : SAP and PJM
  • Positions Eligibility Requirements

    60% or more travel required within your specified region
