Job Summary : The Clinical Supervisor coordinates the daily tasks of the clinical staff members. The Clinical Supervisor monitors quality control processes to ensure that inbox tasks, form completion and clinical duties are completed in a timely manner. The Clinical Supervisor must train, audit and support new clinical employees during the introductory employment period and provide guidance to established clinical employees as needed. The Clinical Supervisor assists the Practice Manager with formal, documented reviews on a periodic basis per office policy. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for ensuring adequate clinical office staff coverage and communicating with the Practice Manager. Performs clinical duties as needed to provide adequate staff coverage. Performs clinical duties under the supervision of the physician or mid-level provider and may include obtaining and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, performing procedures, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by the physician or mid-level provider.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Coordinates the daily tasks of the clinical staff members. Monitoring quality control techniques to ensure that inbox tasks, form completion and clinical duties are completed in a timely manner.
  • Provides training and guidance to new clinical employees as well as established clinical employees as needed.
  • Performs clinical duties as needed to provide adequate clinical staff coverage.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills in order to triage patient care appropriately. Communicates with physician or mid-level to provide excellent care to patients in the office and by phone.
  • Assisting patients with obtaining DME as needed.
  • Prepares medical forms for provider signature based on documentation in the record.
  • 7.Performs clinical duties including rooming patients, taking vital signs, recording medical histories, preparing patients for examinations, drawing blood and administering medications as directed by the provider
  • Provides care in a safe and effective manner.
  • Maintains accurate and complete medical records.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills with patients, families and co-workers.
  • Demonstrates flexibility to meet staffing needs of practice.
  • Maintains a well-organized environment.
  • Facilitates accurate and timely patient / visitor related activities in an efficient and courteous manner.

Qualifications

Education Requirements and Other Requirements :

Education Level : High school graduate or equivalent required. Medical terminology course or background required. Must have a clinical background as a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse. Medical Assistants must maintain registration or certification as a medical assistant. LPNs must maintain an Illinois license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Experience Requirements : Experience in a medical setting. Prior experience as a Medical Assistant or LPN is preferred.

Other Requirements : Must be able to complete computer work. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
