About the Role

Optimal is looking for an ambitious programmatic advertising strategist with at least one year of hands‑on programmatic media management experience to join our team. The Programmatic Advertising Strategist will play an active role in dictating & executing programmatic strategy across DV360, The Trade Desk, and Stackadapt. The ideal candidate has a true passion for programmatic media, a track record of effective campaign management, and strong familiarity with the platform ecosystem. Optimal is a performance marketing agency on a mission, bringing together the best data, technology, and people to achieve our clients’ marketing goals.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Programmatic Strategy – Plan & allocate budgets across top programmatic channels, identify new opportunities, build strategic recommendations based on performance analysis.
  • Campaign Management & Optimization – Manage ongoing campaigns, conduct performance analysis, adjust to meet & exceed client KPIs.
  • Budget Allocation & Pacing – Manage monthly budgets, track daily pacing, make informed budget changes based on data.
  • Reporting & Analysis – Perform deep‑dive analysis, write client reports, present strategic recommendations during meetings.
  • Collaboration – Work closely with leadership, develop & recommend new account strategies, interface with internal teams.
  • Creative Ideation – Guide creative team, test creative variations to determine highest‑performing assets.
  • Industry & Vendor Relationships – Strengthen agency relationships with vendors to fully leverage capabilities.
  • Innovation – Identify & test new programmatic opportunities to improve performance and drive innovation.

Minimum Qualifications & Skill Requirements

  • 1+ year of full‑time, hands‑on programmatic advertising experience.
  • Consistent track record handling high campaign volume across programmatic media landscape.
  • Superior ability to analyze data in The Trade Desk, DV360, Stackadapt, Microsoft Power BI, and Google Analytics.
  • Experience with other DSPs and Campaign Manager 360 is a plus.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Best‑in‑class communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • 4‑year Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, advertising, statistics, analytics, or related field is a plus.

    Based in Austin, TX. Hybrid schedule : three days per week in office, two days remote. Work hours 9 : 00 A.M. – 5 : 00 P.M., Monday–Friday, with evening and weekend work as needed.
