Make a difference as a Collection Officer
As a Collections Officer at Pima Federal Credit Union, you will play a crucial role in managing delinquent accounts and minimizing financial losses for the organization. Your primary responsibilities will include initiating and following up on collection activities, ensuring timely communication with members about overdue loans, and negotiating feasible repayment plans that are beneficial to both the members and the credit union. You will demonstrate exceptional member service while handling sensitive situations with empathy and compassion, educating members on their payment options. Your tasks will involve reviewing loan reports, maintaining accurate records in our delinquency control system, and collaborating with various stakeholders to uphold regulatory standards.

What matters most
To excel as a Collection Officer at Pima Federal Credit Union, you will need a combination of essential skills and experience. A High School diploma or equivalent is required, along with at least two years of collections experience within a financial institution or a similar setting. Familiarity with bankruptcy processes is preferred, as it will enable you to navigate complex situations effectively. Intermediate proficiency with computer software, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite, is crucial for maintaining accurate records and managing communication. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are highly desirable, allowing you to engage with a diverse member base.
Familiarity with Symitar (Episys) is also preferred, as it enhances your ability to efficiently manage account information. Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills are essential to connect with members and support them through their financial challenges while adhering to regulatory compliance standards.
