Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Telemetry Float position requiring a WA or compact RN license and Telemetry skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in an acute care hospital setting on a Med / Surg Telemetry Float unit
  • 32-bed unit with patient ratios of 1 : 4-6
  • Patient population includes post-surgical (general, orthopedic, urology, gynecology) cases
  • All beds are telemetry capable, with RNs responsible for reading and validating telemetry strips
  • Monitor techs are off site
  • Titration of drips including Heparin, Blood, and IV fluids required
  • Uses EpicCare Inpatient EMR
  • 12-hour night shifts from 7 : 00 pm to 7 : 30 am, with every other weekend required
  • Floating within scope to other units is expected
  • No on-call or standby requirements
  • RNs validate and read telemetry strips in addition to usual nursing responsibilities
  • Support provided by Charge Nurse and House Supervisor
  • Nurse aides assist on the unit with nurse aide ratios between 1 : 8-16
  • Orientation consists of 1-2 shifts coordinated with onboarding
  • Scrub color is navy top and bottom
  • Must be available for holiday coverage, though actual holiday assignments may vary
  • Candidates cannot have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year
  • RTO must be approved by the manager
  • First time travelers will be considered

  • Active WA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration (pending licenses not accepted)
  • Current BLS certification required
  • At least 1 year of RN experience with previous Telemetry experience
  • Ability to titrate drips including Heparin, Blood, and IV fluids
  • Experience with Epic EMR preferred
