Evening Garage Supervisor

The Quad City Garage Policy Group is seeking an Evening Garage Supervisor . The Garage Supervisor plans and assigns the work of Technicians and Service Workers and reviews work performance to ensure conformance with established methods, policies and procedures.

Essential Duties include :

• Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities and directing the work of subordinate employees.
• Monitors progress of work assignments and performs quality control inspections on finished assignments.
• Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques.
• Trains, counsels, and motivates staff to maintain and improve productivity.
• Identifies staff development and training needs and ensures training is obtained.
• Ensures proper labor relations are maintained.
• Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to the work.
• Approves employee timecards and requested time off.
• Enforces work rules, safety and cleanliness standards, monitors condition of facility and equipment.
• Performs related work as assigned.

Qualified candidates will possess a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a post-secondary educational program in a technical discipline. 5-7 years of practical working experience (heavy equipment preferred) and 1-3 years in a supervisory / management role or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Preferred candidate will also have experience with database management or shop inventory systems.
