Summary :

This is a full-time position that requires the Consultant to regularly collaborate with and provide support for clients and team members in order to meet clients' and organizational needs. This team member will be responsible for a wide spectrum of duties including, but not limited to, development and review of ongoing client deliverables, data collection, financial analytics, carrier and client interfacing, issue resolution and general project management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Build financial models for proposed medical / Rx plan design and contribution changes, accounting for migration and tier changes, as appropriate
  • Develop benchmarking analyses and create client-ready reports for review by senior staff
  • Manage, track, and communicate project status internally and externally ensuring that projects are meeting deadlines and client teams are aware of issues impacting successful execution
  • Review claims experience to project future medical / Rx costs on an insured and self-insured basis
  • Review carrier projections to determine validity of assumptions
  • Respond quickly and accurately to client and carrier questions and work to resolve any issue or problem as quickly as possible, bringing in senior staff as required
  • Draft, manage, review, and analyze RFPs
  • Manage diligence projects, including drafting data requests, monitoring the data room, and drafting reports
  • Participate in client calls, including taking notes and ensuring follow-up, as required
  • Collaborate with all team members and across the organization on projects as needed with multiple project leads
  • Build and maintain solid working relationships with clients, insurance carriers / vendors and co-workers
  • Draft client-ready emails, memos, and presentations for review by senior staff
  • Assist with all aspects of client meeting preparation, including presenting, as required
  • Coordinate new carrier business, including reviewing paperwork for accuracy and managing towards critical milestones
  • Assist with Stop-loss Center of Excellence
  • Additional duties, as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and / or Abilities :

  • Work on multiple projects (and teams) at once, prioritizing deliverables based on due dates
  • Thrive in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
  • Effectively establish rapport, present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and co-workers
  • Self-review work for accuracy and brand adherence
  • Peer review work thoroughly and timely
  • Strong technical and financial acumen with ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Strong writing skills with ability to correspond in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner
  • Strong knowledge of Health and Welfare concepts and compliance
  • Support / drive health & welfare strategy
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint knowledge
  • Critical thinker
  • A service-oriented mentality
  • Ability to travel
  • Familiarity with private equity a plus
  • Proactive approach to client work
  • Education and / or Experience :

  • Four-year College or University Degree
  • 3+ years of related experience with a consultant / broker, insurance carrier or human resources team
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registration :

  • Life, Accident and Health License required; must be obtained within 90 days of employment

The base salary range for this position is $74,000 – $124,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
