This is a remote position.

Job Title : IBM DB2 Administrator

Location : Remote

Duration : Long-Term Contract

Visa : USC, GC, H4-EAD, GC-EAD

Job Summary :

We are seeking a strong IBM DB2 Administrator to support a large-scale enterprise environment that handles millions of data transactions daily . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing, maintaining, and optimizing DB2 databases, with a proven ability to perform database administration activities independently.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of IBM DB2 databases.
  • Manage database backups, restores, and recovery processes ensuring high availability and data integrity.
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of queries, indexes, and database structures.
  • Implement and monitor database security policies, user access controls, and auditing .
  • Perform routine monitoring and troubleshooting of DB2 systems to ensure smooth operations.
  • Support database migration, upgrade, and patching activities.
  • Develop and maintain database documentation , including architecture, configurations, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and support teams to ensure optimal database performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) in large-scale production environments.
  • Strong understanding of DB2 architecture, SQL optimization, and data recovery techniques.
  • Proficiency in backup, rollback, and performance monitoring tools.
  • Experience with high-availability and disaster recovery (HADR) setups.
  • Knowledge of Linux / Unix environments and scripting (Shell, Python, etc.) preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle production-critical environments.

    • Nice-to-Have :

  • Experience with cloud-based DB2 deployments (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud).
  • Familiarity with automation and DevOps tools for database operations.
  • IBM Certified Database Administrator certification is a plus.
