Purpose
In the role of Department Administrator for Urology you will direct business, finances, human resources and operational activities while leading objectives and initiatives that reinforce MCW's position as a leading innovator in healthcare through its academic and scientific missions. Efficiently allocates material and intangible resources to create an operating environment that recruits and retains the highest quality faculty and staff. Reporting directly to the Department Chair and collaborating with Unit Executive Administrator and Finance Director to maintain an environment conducive to peak performance in all areas of operation. Demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement related to compliance with regulatory and internal policies, departmental resources, and department performance.

Administration & Management - knowledge of business and management principles required for strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources administration, leadership, and performance management of people and resources.
Human Resources - knowledge of principles and procedures for recruitment, selection, talent development, compensation, benefits, and information systems.
Psychology & Counseling - knowledge of human behavior and behavioral motivators required to accurately recognize differences in ability, personality, learning, and motivation in order to effectively counsel and lead direct reports.
Communication & Media - knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques, methods, and best practices to effectively communicate information and provide feedback in a timely manner in a variety of forms.
Grants, Contracts, and Research Administration - knowledge of pre-award, post-award, and compliance considerations regarding grants and contracts necessary for providing feedback related to proposals and coordinating resources.
Tools & Technology - knowledge of desktop and mobile computers and technology as well as department specific analytical and scientific software. Understands database, enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, project management software, word processing software, and spreadsheet software.

Preferred Schedule :
Full-time role with expectations for coverage during core business hours and flexibility required as necessary to accommodate business needs.
