Experience : Minimum of 1 year recent experience as RN in a critical care setting is required.

License : Valid State License required.

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, PACU Experience Required.

Must-Have : BSN, CPAN OR CAPA preferred.

First-timers accepted.

Description :

Position requires a Registered Nurse specializing in Perianesthesia and Short Stay.

Shifts are 4x10s, Monday through Friday.

The nurse-patient ratio is 1 : 3-4.

Includes 40 hours of orientation.

Requires weekend on-call duty, approximately 4-6 times per month.

Floating within Perianesthesia and other units may be required.

The patient population includes adolescents and adults with a wide variety of surgical needs.

Surgical specialties include GYN, ortho, ENT, cosmetics, facial plastics, urology, general surgery, colorectal, spine, transgender care, and late term abortions.

The unit supports interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, social services, and pharmacy.

Daily patient census ranges from 30 to 60.

Candidates should have proficiency in Epic charting.

Special procedures and patient diagnoses vary within the surgical population.

The role includes responsibilities such as pain management, conscious sedation, cardiac monitoring, infection control, and wound management.
