Job Summary :

Our customer is seeking a skilled Horizontal Boring Mill Machinist with experience in reading blueprints, setting up and operating horizontal boring mills, selecting proper tooling, and machining large or complex metal components. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently to produce precision parts to exact specifications.

Key Responsibilities :

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.

Set up and operate horizontal boring mill machines to perform precision machining operations.

Select, install, and adjust tooling, fixtures, and machine parameters.

Machine large and complex parts to exact tolerances and specifications.

Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, etc.).

Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure optimal operation.

Maintain a safe, organized, and clean working environment by following all safety protocols and procedures.

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.

Qualifications :

Proven experience as a Horizontal Boring Mill Machinist or in a similar machining role.

Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills.

Proficiency in machine setup, tooling selection, and operation.

Ability to use precision measuring tools and verify tolerances.

Solid mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining processes.

Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machining is a plus.
