SMS Staffing Is Hiring Immediately for Shipping Specialists!

JOB TITLE : Shipping & Receiving Specialist

JOB LOCATION : North Chicago, IL

JOB TYPE : Temp to Hire

PAY : $22.50 / HOUR

1st SHIFT : 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM (Monday - Friday)

About the Shipping Specialist Role :

Are you a detail-oriented shipping pro with a solid understanding of Federal regulations (DOT compliance) ? We’re looking for a skilled Shipping Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and communicates effectively across all levels.

Job Duties :

Responsible for UPS / FedEx small package shipments and deliveries
Assist with SDS database
Lend support to Regulatory Projects and Security
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with minimum supervision
Properly segregate, label, transport, store, record, and inspect hazardous and non-hazardous materials

Qualification Requirements :

High School diploma or equivalent

Minimum 1-2 years industry experience

Basic math, writing, and reading skills

Computer skills such as Excel, Word, and Outlook are desirable

Forklift experience, preferred.

Special Circumstances of the Job :

Position involves safety-sensitive functions

May require overtime

May involve heavy lifting and climbing

Must be able to wear safety equipment (e.g., respirators, gloves, acid suit, goggles, steel-toe work boots)

May be required to work outdoors
