About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Contract Manager to join our Purchased Services sourcing team, specializing in energy procurement within the healthcare sector. This is a strategic role focused on contract negotiation, energy sourcing, and project execution to deliver value-driven solutions for healthcare provider networks across the U.S.
In this role, you'll lead energy sourcing projects from cradle to grave — from spend analysis and RFP management to contract negotiation and implementation — while collaborating with internal stakeholders and external healthcare clients (IDNs). This is a high-impact position requiring deep industry expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives with tight timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage aggregated sourcing events to deliver high-quality, cost-effective energy contracts
- Oversee end-to-end RFP processes : vendor research, bid strategy, RFP development, proposal evaluation, and contract execution
- Negotiate energy supply deals on behalf of members, ensuring optimal pricing and service terms
- Partner with analysts and cross-functional teams to validate data, build spend assessments, and generate initiative scorecards
- Engage with multiple healthcare provider networks (IDNs) to align sourcing strategies with their energy needs
- Draft and refine contract language in collaboration with legal and regulatory teams
- Provide weekly project updates and performance reporting to senior leadership
- Ensure accurate tracking of KPIs, timelines, deliverables, and savings outcomes
- Train and support junior staff or analysts on sourcing best practices and process improvements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required5-7 years’ experience in energy sourcing, procurement, or contract negotiation — preferably in a healthcare or GPO settingStrong understanding of energy markets (brokers, consultants, suppliers) and contract structuresExperience managing multiple customer accounts or IDNs across different regionsProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skillsStrong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and time managementMust be a collaborative team player comfortable working in fast-paced environments with compressed timelinesPreferred Background
Previous experience with energy procurement in a healthcare GPO, hospital system, or energy consulting firmExperience working in other commodity categories may also be considered if energy experience is robustDemonstrated success delivering measurable cost savings through strategic sourcing initiativesWhy Join Us?
